The Long Tail and Longtail Web Development

Longtail Web Development buys, builds and runs web-sites that exemplify the principles outlined in the excellent book The Long Tail, by Chris Anderson. The premise of the book is that consumer demand runs much deeper than what the ‘hit based’ marketing of the past 40 years currently provides for.

Like many early Internet marketing enthusiasts, the management team of Longtail Web Development became aware of the power of the longtail – and the concept itself – years before Mr. Anderson captured it so well in his excellent book. Indeed, Mr. Anderson is quick to disavow any credit for discovering the longtail.  What he has done is expose its importance to marketers around the world.

When we started our company in 2005 we wanted a name that encompassed our approach to web marketing and spoke to the huge power, efficiency and effectiveness we know it provides. Hence the name Longtail Web Development.  Currently we working on all of our properties to maximize the potential of the Longtail.
